Here are some legitimate, helpful links for hikers, bikers, equestrians, and general visitors to these areas.

Back Country Horsemen of North Carolina:  A good resource for the general area.

Back Country Horsemen of Pisgah:  A volunteer organization.  This site has a lot of good information for Pisgah Ranger District, including some trail reviews from a horseman's perspective.

Carolina Mountain Club:  The oldest hiking club and trail maintenance organization in Western North Carolina.  A great group of folks offering guided tours, opportunities to help maintain the trails you love, education, advocacy, and hiking challenges.  Check out their site.

DuPont State Forest:  official site.

Foothills Trail Conference:  Only 6.7 miles of the approximately 77 mile Foothills Trail is in Gorges State Park.  The overall trail, though, is definitely worth looking into.  The Trail Conference site includes vital information and offers a Peregrine Award to those hiking the full length of the trail.

Friends of DuPont State Forest:  This is a lively site with tons of great information about the Forest in general.

Friends of Gorges State Park:  A promising new site for Gorges.  They have a lot of general information about Gorges this site does not have; i.e. about things other than hiking trails.

Gorges State Park:  official site.

Pisgah Ranger District:  official site; occasionally loads slowly.
